When someone has many internal links with more than 1 level of depth, it is best to use the breadcrumbs navigation above the notes, showing how you get there, i.e. “home -> level 1 -> level 2 -> level 3 -> title of the page”, putting the link in each level so that the user may go back to the previous level/s.
